Abstract |
In power distribution system; the magnitude of supply voltage has to be maintained within a certain range for ensuring the safety and performance of supply facilities and electrical devices. Accordingly; each countries have their own standards related to the maintenance range for supply voltages that electric service providers must comply with. In this paper; standards related to supply voltage are investigated; and in particular; Korean Industrial Standards which regulated in 220/380V±10% and; Electric utility act of Korea which regulated in 220±6% and 380V±10% are reviewed. Next; the background and constraints of these two regulations in Korea are discussed and changing the permissible range of supply voltage is proposed; similar to international standards is proposed. Lastly; in accordance with the international standardization; the effects on electrical devices and the hosting capacity of distributed energy resources are discussed. |
