Abstract |
Currently, as industrialization progresses, various electrical devices are becoming more portable. According to this situation, research on batteries, which are a key element in the portability of electric devices, is being actively conducted. The number of fires caused by batteries is second only to switchboard/distribution board fire accidents. Overheating and overcharging due to external heating are cited as the main causes of these battery fires. Unlike battery fires caused by external heating, battery fires caused by overcharging can be protected from fire by controlling the charging and discharging characteristics using a BMS. Therefore, in this paper, we designed and manufactured test facilities based to examine the charging and discharging characteristics of lithium-ion batteries. Battery characteristic results were obtained through charge and discharge tests within the normal range of lithium-ion batteries and dynamic discharge tests. Therefore, the dynamic characteristics, reliability, and safety of secondary batteries can be determined using the test equipment designed and manufactured in this paper. In addition, it is expected that damage to property and life caused by fire and damage to machinery using batteries can be reduced by reducing battery life and minimizing protection circuit failures. |
