Abstract |
In this paper, we propose a technique to detect arcs by analyzing frequencies through Goertzel Algorithm, taking advantage of the fact that the size of even harmonics increases due to the imbalance of the waveform of current by the arc. In addition, arc candidate points are selected using the fact that the differential value increases in the shoulder section when the arc occurs and that the RMS value of the current fluctuates, preventing malfunctions in determining that it is an arc when the load fluctuates under the resistance load and the SMPS load. Rather than performing frequency analysis using DFT and FFT, which are existing methods of separating all frequency components, Goertzel Algorithm, which can extract the size of a specific frequency, reduces the amount of computation and verifies the arc detection operation under resistance and SMPS loads through simulation and experiments. |
