Abstract Many results on the stability of time-delayed linear systems with time-varying time delays have been obtained using a single Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional(LKF). This paper presents a stability result using multiple LKFs dependent on the time delay interval. Multiple LKFs are different LKFs selected in each region partitioned by the size of the time delay. First, we present a result that guarantees stability in the case of a general -multiple LKFs. Next, based on this, we present a result in the form of linear matrix inequality(LMI) that guarantees stability in the case of   . Finally, the usefulness of the presented result is shown through two well-known benchmark examples.
