Abstract |
A dual active bridge (DAB) converter performs power conversion through two half-bridge circuits and a high-frequency transformer and has the advantage of high efficiency over a wide voltage range. An appropriate control gain design is required to maintain stable current control of a DAB converter. This paper proposes a gain design method for the parameter-based current controller of a DAB converter. The transfer function of a DAB converter is derived using a generalized average modeling technique, and the coefficients of transfer function polynomials are defined as parameters of a DAB converter by developing a formula. In addition, the formula is simplified by approximation of the transfer function and a method of designing current controller gain is proposed. The proposed method verified the validity of the simplified transfer function and designed control gain through Bode diagram analysis. In addition, the designed control gain is applied to PSIM simulation to verify the control dynamics and proper operations. |
