Abstract |
This paper proposes a design methodology of comb-line array antenna with low sidelobe level. To taper the amplitude of the array aperture, we applied the radiation power ratio calcuated at the radiation boundary, not based on the conventional radiation conductance method. While the conventional radiation conductance-based design calculates the radiation power indirectly from S-parameters, the proposed method directly calculates the radiation power at the radiation boundary using electromagnetic analysis tool. The 18-element linear arrays are designed using the proposed design method and the prototypes are measured. The measured and analyzed results are in good agreement, and the array design using the proposed method shows more closer desired sidelobe level than the conventional method. |
